About the Scheme
Brief
A flagship Central Sector Scheme launched in March 2015 to provide quality vocational training to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
Objectives
- To provide vocational training to enable gainful wage or self-employment
- To empower PwDs to become productive, independent members of society
- Reduce the gap in skills and employment to ensure social and economic inclusion
Eligibility Criteria
- Indian citizen
- Persons with disability having a minimum of 40% disability, certified by a competent authority
- Age between 15 and 59 years
- Candidates must not have undergone any other skill training course under the NAP-SDP in the preceding one year
Benefits
- Free-of-cost skill training in various NSQF-aligned courses (e.g., Domestic Data Entry Operator, Retail Sales Associate)
- Placement assistance and post-placement support for wage or self-employment
- Placement of at least 70% of trained candidates
- Access to the "Divyangjan Rozgar Setu" module for job matching
