About the Scheme
Brief
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme For The Students Belonging To Scheduled Tribe For Studies In India" is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, for the students of Scheduled Tribe (ST) for studies in India. This scheme is for pursuing higher education starting from class XI to Post Graduation courses in India
Objectives
To enable eligible Scheduled Tribe students to undertake quality education from Post Matric to Post Graduate level by providing them financial assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to Indian nationals belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) of their respective State/UT.
For recognized post-matric/post-secondary courses in recognized institutions.
Must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or higher.
Class XI students not eligible, except where Class X is treated as Matriculation.
PG medical students eligible if not allowed to practice.
Eligible for professional/technical courses after UG/PG if otherwise qualified.
No course change allowed; failures not condoned (except Group ‘I’).
Distance/correspondence education students eligible.
Employed students eligible if on leave without pay; fee reimbursement subject to income ceiling.
All children of the same parents are eligible.
Only one scholarship/stipend allowed (student must choose).

Professional Courses (Bachelor/Master/MPhil/PhD, PG Diploma)
Hosteller: ₹1,200/month (₹12,000/year)
Day Scholar: ₹500/month (₹5,500/year)
Non-Professional Degree Courses (BA/BSc/BCom, MA/MSc/MCom, etc.)
Hosteller: ₹820/month (₹8,200/year)
Day Scholar: ₹530/month (₹5,300/year)
Vocational / ITI / Polytechnic Diploma Courses
Hosteller: ₹570/month (₹5,700/year)
Day Scholar: ₹300/month (₹3,000/year)
Post-Matric Non-Degree Courses (Class XI–XII level)
Hosteller: ₹380/month (₹3,800/year)
Day Scholar: ₹230/month (₹2,300/year)
