About the Scheme

Brief
The Atma Nirbhar Matsya Palan Yojana (ANMPY) is a flagship credit-linked subsidy scheme launched by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh in 2021. It aims to promote self-reliant fish farming, enhance income for local beneficiaries (primarily ST communities), and achieve food and nutritional security in the state

Objectives
To make Arunachal Pradesh self-reliant in fish production by reducing imports, creating sustainable youth employment in aquaculture, promoting modern scientific fish farming practices, and developing essential infrastructure such as fish ponds, raceways, and hatcheries

Eligibility Criteria
- Individual fish farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cooperative Societies, and Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs)
- Must be above 18 years of age
- Must possess a suitable water body or land for pond construction, verified by the District Fisheries Development Officer (DFDO)
- Government employees and bank defaulters are ineligible

- 45% Government subsidy
- 45% Bank Loan
- 10% Beneficiary Contribution
- Funding supports high-tech setups like Recirculatory Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and integrated fish farming units
- The Fisheries Department provides free technical training and scientific guidance on fish seed stocking, feed management, and water quality
- Assistance is provided for the initial procurement of high-quality fish seeds and specialized feed to ensure a successful first harvest
