About the Scheme
Brief
NBHM is a 100% centrally funded initiative under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package. It treats beekeeping as an integral part of the Integrated Farming System to enhance crop productivity and generate additional income for rural households
Objectives
- Increase agricultural productivity through pollination support
- Establish infrastructure like integrated development centers and labs
- Implement traceability to prevent adulteration
- Empower farmers and women through training and capacity building
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age 18 years
- Individual farmers, SHGs, FPOs, and co-operatives
- Agri-entrepreneurs and startups in the honey sector
- Registration with the National Bee Board/Madhukranti portal is required
- Special Priority: Priority and higher subsidies (up to 90%) are often provided for women, SC/ST categories, and residents of Northeast and Himalayan regions
