About the Scheme
Brief
It is a revamped, flagship Centrally Sponsored Scheme aimed at transforming agriculture into a remunerative economic activity by strengthening farmers efforts, mitigating risk, and promoting agri-business entrepreneurship
Objectives
- Nurture innovation via financial aid and incubation
- Build post-harvest infrastructure and increase income through value-added, market-linked models
- Mitigate risks via diversification and attract youth through technology
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals/Startups: Indian citizens, registered legal entities (Pvt Ltd, LLP, or Partnership), and DPIIT-recognized startups
- Sector Focus: Must be operating in agriculture or allied sectors (e.g., horticulture, dairy, fisheries, food processing)
- Stage of Innovation: Startups typically need a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or a working prototype for seed-stage funding
- General Farmers: The broader scheme is open to all farmers, regardless of landholding size, who are residents of India with valid land records
Benefits
- Financial Grants:
i. Idea/Pre-Seed Stage: Up to ₹5 Lakh (90% grant, 10% contribution) for prototype development
ii. Seed Stage: Up to ₹25 Lakh (85% grant, 15% contribution) for commercialization
- Incubation & Training: A two-month Agripreneurship Orientation program with a stipend of ₹10,000 per month
- Mentorship: Access to technical and business experts, networking opportunities, and market linkage support
- Risk Mitigation: Support for diversified income activities like mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, and floriculture
