About the Scheme
Brief
It is a short-term program offering students the chance to work on live e-Governance and IT projects at MeitY or the National Informatics Centre (NIC)
Objectives
To bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world implementation by involving students in digital governance, technology research, and policy development
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Indian citizen
- Minimum 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination
- Must be pursuing one of the following from a recognized Indian university:
i. Technical: B.E/B.Tech (3rd year onwards), M.E/M.Tech, M.Sc (CS/IT/Electronics), MCA, or DoEACC ‘B’ level
ii. Non-Technical: L.L.B. (for Cyber Law/Public Policy) or Bachelor’s in Economics/Statistics
- Exclusions: Students in their final semester or graduating in Summer 2026 are generally not eligible
Benefits
- Stipend: A monthly token remuneration of ₹10,000 is paid upon satisfactory performance
- Certification: An official certificate is issued by MeitY or NIC upon successful completion and report submission
- Mentorship: Interns work under the guidance of qualified supervisors/mentors on national-level digital initiatives
