About the Scheme
Brief
It is a state-sponsored health insurance scheme providing cashless, secondary, and tertiary healthcare to Arunachal Pradesh indigenous residents, ensuring up to ₹5 lakh per family annually.
Objectives
- To reduce the financial burden of out-of-pocket medical expenses during major illnesses and hospitalisations
- To ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all indigenous people and government employees of the state
- To bridge the secondary and tertiary healthcare service gap in Arunachal Pradesh
Eligibility Criteria
- Tribal Communities: Individuals belonging to tribal communities recognized by the state
- Non-Tribals: Non-tribal legal residents specifically from the Changlang, Lohit, or Namsai districts
- Government Workforce: All regular State Government employees, their dependents, and recently extended to State Pensioners
- Ineligibility: Individuals cannot hold dual coverage; they must choose between CMAAY or the central Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) scheme
Benefits
- Cashless Treatment: Complete cashless hospitalization at empanelled government and private hospitals
- Annual Coverage: Up to ₹5,00,000 per family (typically split as ₹1 lakh for secondary and ₹4 lakh for tertiary care)
- Pre & Post-Hospitalisation: Covers medical expenses for up to 3 days before admission and 10 days after discharge
- Pre-existing Diseases: Comprehensive coverage includes pre-existing medical conditions from day one
- No Restrictions: There is no cap on family size, age, or gender for enrolment
