About the Scheme
Brief
The Chief Minister's Paryatan Vikas Yojana (CMPVY) is an Arunachal Pradesh government scheme designed to boost tourism by providing financial subsidies for developing local tourism infrastructure. It aims to promote self-employment and generate livelihoods by supporting homestays, adventure sports, and food services.
Objectives
To develop tourism facilities, promote local livelihoods, and encourage self-employment in the tourism and hospitality sector.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a domicile of Arunachal Pradesh
- For homestays, applicants must be registered with the Department of Tourism and typically must have operated successfully for at least six months with a track record of hosting guests
- For adventure equipment, applicants must be registered tour operators or trained in adventure sports
Benefits
- Components
i. Homestays: Value addition/renovation support (e.g., well-furnished rooms with attached toilets, geysers)
ii. Adventure Tourism: Financial support for purchasing equipment like rafts, kayaks, quad bikes, and zorbs
iii. Food Services: Support for opening patisseries, food courts, restaurants, and food trucks
- Eligible beneficiaries can receive a direct subsidy of up to ₹5.00 lakh for these activities
